Hello, my name is Maryanne Higgins with Barefoot Baby’s. I am certified as a Childbirth Educator, I taught for the Florida Hospital Heartland Division for 12 years and I am an active birth professional. I have experience with a variety of labor support techniques. I worked with the Healthy Start program from 2002 till 2018. I have worked with new mothers and babies for thirty years in the field of maternal-child health and lactation. I believe that every woman deserves to learn about her birth options, so she may give birth to her baby in her own unique style.

I have a passion to help empower the women in our community through evidence-based education related to normal natural birth. As a mother myself I feel my family is my heart. Each baby that is born should be respected in the process, how they arrive into the world is very important. Birth is as much a spiritual act as it is a physical one. You must become aware of how important the body, mind, and spirit are to the process. Nothing you do will ever be as important as the birth of a child. This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment that will last forever. I would be honored to be part of your family’s beginning.
